Secure Transactions

Your Purchases are Secure and Safe

Your connection through our shopping cart and checkout system is secure through AES-128 bit encryption using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).  This high level of encryption ensures all data sent and received can not be viewed in the event of being intercepted.  All data you submit through our ecommerce website is protected by SSL encryption, including specifically your name, address and credit card information.

Once you add a product to your cart and visit any shopping cart or checkout pages on Indigenous.com you will see the web address now starts with a https: (note the “s” which stands for secure), as opposed to starting with http: which is more common.  The https website address will also likely display a lock and appear in green color, depending on your browser.   Your browser displays the lock and green color indicating that the Secure Certificate we purchased from issuer RapidSSL CA is valid and the identity of our website has been verified by RapidSSL CA as part of the issuance process.   If you do not see the lock and green color you may want to upgrade your browser to a more current version, this type of visual reference from browsers can be very helpful.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we implement generally accepted industry standards.

Our direct payment gateways for processing your credit card adheres to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
